Haiti - U-17 WC Morocco 2026 Qualifications : Our Grenadières defeated by Puerto-Rico [3-1] (video) 18/03/2026 06:00:00
As part of the final phase of the qualifiers for the U-17 Women's World Cup (WC) Morocco 2026 (October-November 2026), our Grenadières faced on the lawn of field no. 1 of the Costa Rican Football Federation in Alajuela, the "Coqui Warriors" the selection of Puerto Rico to whom they bowed [3-1]. Summary : Mia Colon opened the scoring for Puerto Rico in the 43’ just before halftime [1-0]. Mia Colon won a penalty in the penalty area, converted by Giselle Falcon in the 45th minute [2-0] in favor of the "Coqui Warriors". At 45'+1' Miya Larco reduces the gap for Haiti with a right-footed shot from outside the area [2-1]. Despite their constant efforts, our Grenadières were unable to reverse the trend. Michaela Poidomani scored in the 67th minute, giving Puerto Rico a two-goal lead and securing 3 points for her team in this first match. This defeat complicates the task of our Grenadières, because they must finish first in their group or rank among the two best second of the three groups to qualify for the Women's World Cup in Morocco. Our players will have to pull themselves together against the United States on March 19 to hope to win one of the four tickets available for the CONCACAF zone.
